[Interviste] Ron Lior: l'erotismo tra fumetti, cartoons e pop art

Ho avuto il piacere di intervistare Ron Lior , un pittore bizzarro e stravagante che ha fatto dei cartoon la sua fonte di ispirazione dando vita a una pittura singolare e d'effetto.

Rappresenti le donne come un cartone, perché hai scelto questa strada?

Crescendo, ho letto molti fumetti e visto cartoni alla TV. Indubbiamente mi hanno influenzato. Penso che alcuni dei migliori aspetti artistici odierni sono rintracciabili nei graphic novel o nei film animati.

Vuoi minimizzare l'anima di una donna e così ridicolizzarla usando questa tecnica? Qual è la tua finalità?

Niente affatto. Al contrario, dipingo le donne sotto una luce magnifica. Amo e rispetto le donne. Penso che molte donne si identifichino con le miei rappresentazioni. Molte donne comprano i miei quadri: ovviamente, li trovano attraenti e vedono in essi qualcosa di positivo.
Le mie opera glorificano le donne e quando le ritraggo in pose sensuali semmai le donne sorridono ma non si offendono.

I corpi che rappresenti sono molto belli e godono di una buona salute. I seni prosperi, le loro natiche piene e sode: cosa pensi dell'importanza conferita al corpo dalla nostra società?

Bhe, innanzitutto è bello apparire belli e essere in forma è molto importante. Sono del tutto sicuro che sia importante per me come per qualsiasi altro. Nella vita reale, "vado d'accordo" con le imperfezioni delle persone specialmente le mie. Resterai sorpresa, ma non è solo "l'anatomia perfetta" che mi attrae di più. Amo il carattere, la personalità, l'intelligenza, l'eleganza, la sensualità che si palesano anche fisicamente.
I quadri sono qualcosa di affascinante, una sorta di fantasia. Combino elementi che considero belli, sensuali, erotici, etc..

Penso che tu sia un anticonformista perchè il mondo della moda ci impone di essere magri e alti. Cosa ne pensi?

Se vivi la tua vita seguendo i periodici di moda, probabilmente penseresti che l'altezza e la magrezza sono dei mezzi per arrivare. Se vivi la vita con una prospettiva più ampia e con coscienza, probabilmente saresti felice di essere bello e sentirti bene e vedresti che tutto ha molte forme e sembianze.
Cos'è per te la volgarità? I tuoi personaggi sono così sensuali e belli.

Non considero la mia arte volgare, coraggiosa è la giusta descrizione.
E' ammaliante, ma non aggressive, erotica ma non pornografica....

Com'è il tuo rapporto con le donne e il sesso?
Amo le donne e amo il sesso. Riassume bene il concetto?
Chi è la tua Musa? Hai una modella o la Fantasia è la tua modella?

Ero solito lavorare con molte modelle nel passato e in alcune occasioni lo faccio ancora. Qualche volta mia moglie mi fa da modella. Attualmente uso molte immagini che trovo on line: è divertente avere accesso a una così grande varietà. Questo rende il processo anche più veloce.
Durante questi anni ho sviluppato un unico stile che è riconosciuto in tutto il mondo. Non c'è problema se mi ispiro a un modello preso da un sito porno o da un giornale di moda, faccio mio il personaggio ugualmente. E' quello che una donna esprime, la sua faccia, il suo corpo, ovviamente, ma anche altre cose come la posa, le sensazioni e così via. E' una sensazione che ho.
Ogni donna è differente, è affascinante.
Ho molte Muse ispiratrici, dall'adolescente alle celebrità famose, ma se segui i miei dipinti sono sicuro che troverai un'idea del tipo e le qualità che trovo affascinanti. Se dovessi fare una lista di nomi, ce n'è uno che sicuramente ti è familiare: Sofia Loren....
Cosa stai facendo ora? Che tipo di quadri?

Ho una mostra a Stoccolma e parteciperò ad una collettiva di arte erotica che sarà in Danimarca il prossimo mese. Vorrei fare una mostra in Italia: nessuno interessato?

I have the pleasure to interview Mr. Ron Lior, a unique and creative painter.

You represent the femenine figures like a cartoon, why do you select this way?

Growing up, I used to read a lot of comics and watch cartoons on TV. It's defiantly had it's influence. I think that some of the best art today can be found in graphic novels and animated films.
Do you want to minimize the soul of a woman and so ridiculize her? What is your purpouse?

On the contrary. I portray women in a very "magnificent" light. I admire and respect women. I think most women identify with my paintings. I can tell you for a fact that there are many women who buy my art, so obviously they find it attractive and see it as something positive. My paintings glorify women, even the more sexual ones are done in a way that women find arousing as opposed to being offended.
The bodies you are painting are very good and have a good health. Their breast is winding, their ass full: what do you think about the importance given to the body in our society?

Well, first of all it's good to look good, and to be healthy is most important. I'm pretty sure it's just as important to me as it is to anybody else. In real life, I get along fine with peoples physical imperfections, starting with my own : ) You'd be surprised , it's not just the "perfect anatomy" that I'm most attracted to. I like character, personality, intelligence, elegence and sexuality which also come across physically. The paintings are something glamorous, a kind of fantasy. I combine elements that I consider to be beautiful, sensual, erotic etc..
I guess you could say that I have good taste : )

I suppose you are no conformist because world fashion impose us to be thin and high. Doesn't it?

If you live your life according to a fashion magazine, you'd probably think that thin and tall is the only way to go. If you live your life with a broader perspective and awareness, then you'd be probably be happy with looking and feeling good, and that has many shapes and forms.
What is for you the vulgarity? Your characters are so sensual and beautiful.

I don't consider my art vulgar, bold might be a better description.
It's flirtatious but not aggressive, it's erotic but not pornographic...

How is your relationship with woman and sex?

I love women and I love sex . Does that sum it up? : )

Who is your Muse? Have you got a model or is fantasy a model for you?

I used to work with many models in the past and on occasion still do, sometimes my wife models for me. Today I use a lot of pics that I find online, it's great to have access to so much variety. It also makes the work process much faster.
During the years I've developed a unique style which is recognized worldwide.
No matter if I'm using a pic from a porn site or from a fashion magazine or a live model, I always make her my own. It's what a women projects, her face and figure of course, but also such things as her pose, her vibe and so forth. It's a feeling I get. Every women is a different direction, it's fascinating.

I have many muses, from an old girlfriend to a famous celeberty, but if you follow the paintings I'm sure you can get an idea of the type or types and qualities that I find attractive. If I were to make a list of names, there's one that I'm sure you're familiar with : Sophia Loren...

What are you doing now? Which picture?

I'm having an exhibition in Stockholm and will be participating in a group erotic art exhibition in Denmark next month. I would really really love to have an exhibition in Italy, anyone interested?
